Welcome to Port Moody

Searching for a vibrant, youthful enclave that boasts a flourishing art scene, staggering views, and abundant green spaces?

Port Moody may be precisely the place that’s been occupying your dreams. Known as the “City of the Arts,” Port Moody is both exciting and relaxing, elegant and laid back, urban and serene. Situated roughly 25 minutes away from Vancouver, Port Moody is part of the Tri-Cities region but possesses a personality entirely its own. Its lush waterfront public park is one of its biggest attractions, an impeccable space that bursts with delighted residents and visitors when the weather turns warm. Ideally situated between Burnaby and Coquitlam, Port Moody offers an idyllic lifestyle, one in which opportunities for outdoor recreation abound, and a sense of togetherness bonds its lively group of residents.

Port Moody locals are fortunate to live minutes away from world-class restaurants, bars, galleries, and boutiques. Still, few things top the small city’s ale trail – a celebration of the impressive artisan brewers that are scattered throughout the Greater Vancouver area. Add excellent schools and terrific walkability into the mix, and you can understand why new residents are flocking to this region in droves.

Local Lifestyle

Port Moody has a radiant reputation as one of the top spots in British Columbia for young professionals and families with children. The hamlet’s status as one of BC’s art capitals makes it an organic fit for artists, regardless of their medium, while nature-loving retirees are thrilled with the town’s parks and tight-knit, friendly ethos.

You’ll often find the gleeful residents of Port Moody hiking, picnicking, or partaking in a watersport, especially during the sunnier months of spring and summer.

Dining, Shopping & Entertainment

Port Moody furnishes its residents and visitors with an incredible mix of chill cafes, posh restaurants, and, of course, a handful of superb breweries.
The Parkside Brewery is always abuzz with families and crews of friends who love to sit on its splendid, sun-splashed outdoor patio to sample Dreamboat hazy IPAs, Earl Gray ciders, and mango dry-hopped sours.

Meanwhile, the industrial-chic Yellow Dog Brewing Co. features a dynamite selection of locally-crafted ales that serve as a testament to the art form of brewing. What’s more, the community-focused brewery doesn’t just “allow” dogs – they encourage them.

The Hard Bean Brunch Co. is the choicest spot in Port Moody to indulge in a leisurely meal on a late weekend morning. Tiramisu waffles with whipped mascarpone, banana brulee French toast, and omelets teeming with Jack cheese, onions, corn, and peppers are just three of the selections you’ll find on their tantalizing menu.

Romer’s Burger Bar is another Port Moody fave. Here, you can nosh on a Rodeo Star with aioli, vine-ripened tomatoes, and smoked cheddar before indulging in a plate of Romer’s “world-famous” drunken powdered sugar donuts.

Things to Do

Port Moody is a sanctuary for outdoor enthusiasts. The pup-friendly
Rocky Point Park features a slew of options for its visitors, from a pier where you can take a romantic, tranquil walk to a pool where you can cool off when the mercury rises. Both avid and beginning hikers will delight in the extraordinary views of the Burrard Inlet along the Shoreline Trail, while Buntzen Lake positively shimmers with beauty.

The master-planned community of Klahanie is also well worth a visit (or to explore a new home). Beautiful and immaculate, it boasts a bounty of excellent restaurants in Newport Village, an enclave that often draws comparisons to Whistler. And few residents of Greater Vancouver miss the amazingly-fun Brewhalla Beer & Music Festival in Port Moody, a fete featuring live music, delicious brews, great food, and wonderful camaraderie.
